Acquisition Terms
At the Official John Rowlands Archive, we are committed to the highest standards of archival quality and historical authenticity. Because these works are part of exclusive, authenticated archival collections and fine art editions, our policy is as follows:
1. Archival Preparation & Lead Times To maintain the historical integrity of the Archive, each work undergoes a meticulous "Preparation-to-Release" workflow. Every print is produced from a high-resolution scan of the original negative and undergoes professional digital conservation. Following the archival print process, each piece is personally reviewed and hand-signed by John Rowlands.
Handling Window: Due to this rigorous authentication process, please allow a lead time of up to 20 business days (approximately 4 weeks) for your work to be prepared for shipment.
2. Returns for Defective or Damaged Items Only We only accept returns for items that arrive with a manufacturing defect or have been damaged during transit. If your archival work arrives in an unsatisfactory condition, please contact us within 14 days of delivery at info@johnrowlands.co with the following:
Your order confirmation number.
High-resolution photographs of the damage to both the packaging and the archival print.
3. No Exchanges Due to the unique nature of the John Rowlands Archive and the specific handling required for fine art photography, we do not offer exchanges.
4. Final Sale on Fine Art Editions All acquisitions of archival works are final sale. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for a "change of mind" or preference once a work has been released and shipped. Please ensure your selection and size are correct before completing your acquisition.
5. Authenticated Refund Process Once a return is authorized and received for inspection, we will notify you of the status of your refund. Approved refunds will be issued to the original method of payment within 5–10 business days.
6. Secure Return Shipping For authorized returns of defective works, we will provide specific instructions for secure transit. We recommend using a trackable, insured courier service, as the archive cannot be held responsible for items lost or further damaged during return transit.
